These are a beautiful antique red opaque glass melon or rice beads from the early 1900's, bright fire engine opaque red glass, 6 x 8mm melon with 1mm hole. Czech made, often referred to as "Bohemia Glass".  Used in traditional Fulani beadwork. 24 inches long.
